Bergers Et Bergeres, or Shepherds and Shepherdesses is a French woven jacquard wall tapestry based on the drawings of Maurice Jacques and Louis Tessier. Faithful reflection of a gentle and refined time, this romantic scene is pictured in a medallion surrounded by a red brocade border. The original tapestries of which the earliest sketches are recorded in 1758, were woven at the Royal Manufacture of Gobelins from 1765.
